Personal Data Dispute Mediation Committee

The Personal Data Dispute Mediation Committee is an alternative dispute resolution organization established to help parties concerned resolve disputes related to personal data in a rational and amicable fashion. The committee consists of one chairperson and up to 20 committee members.
The Committee’s unique function is to mediate disputes between individual data subjects and processors, as well as to mediate collective complaints over 50 persons. Also, the committee is contributing to protecting citizens’ rights, improving the efficiency of corporations and creating a sound personal data use environment by determining compensation for damages through deliberation of dispute mediation cases.
